Backbeat Drivers win Canberra Blues Society “Original Blues Album” of the Year!
When the Backbeat Drivers were given “Album of the Week” status on ABC 666 in 2002 for their first album, “The Emperor’s New Blues”, they thought this was a milestone.
Their second album, “True Blues Confession”, has gone one better by being awarded best Original Blues Album of the year for 2008 by the Canberra Blues Society.
The band and members Steve Hartnett, Michael Hardy Ben Connelly & “Doc” Rennie were also finalists in a number of other categories including Best Male Vocal, Best Band, Best Instrumentalist and Best Blues Song
